The GMC Terrain is GMC’s option for a midsize SUV, and it’s full of great safety and convenience features. Does it have most of the latest technology like Android Auto to keep drivers interested?

What is Android Auto?

Android Auto is one of the latest convenience features being brought to your vehicle. It gives you the ability to connect your smartphone right to your vehicle’s touchscreen control panel. All of your apps show up on the screen and you can establish voice recognition to use them while you’re driving, giving you a safe and distraction-free way to utilize your phone without endangering yourself and others.

Once you’ve connected your phone to the Android Auto functionality in your car, you are able to send and receive phone calls, use your phone’s saved locations in your maps app, open and read text messages, listen to your favorite podcasts and playlists saved to your phone, and even use your voice to Google things you’re arguing about on a road trip. Android Auto grants you the freedom to stick to your schedules with more efficiency than ever, and drivers love that it’s becoming standard on more vehicles.

Other smart technologies available for the 2020 Terrain are a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, giving your passengers plenty of streaming time on road trips, and an available myGMC mobile app, through which you can lock and unlock your doors, schedule vehicle maintenance, and check oil and fuel levels.

What other features does the GMC Terrain offer?

Along with all the interior technology offered to drivers in the 2020 GMC Terrain, GMC has upped the number of safety features this year as well. Each 2020 Terrain comes standard with GMC’s Pro Safety system, which includes a number of the most sought-after safety technology.

Included in this system are Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and Front Pedestrian Braking, all of which utilize sensors at the front of your vehicle to sense when your brakes may need to be applied in an emergency situation. It will either give you an alert to apply the brakes, or it will still alert you while also applying the brakes for you, saving you precious seconds in a situation where you can’t afford to lose any.

Also included in the Pro Safety system is the Following Distance Indicator, which tells you on your driver display how much distance you have between you and the vehicle in front of you, allowing you to adjust your speed more clearly as you see fit. The system also comes with a Lane Departure Warning, which gives you an alert and a gentle steering correction if it senses you have drifted out of your lane. Features like these are becoming more and more popular with drivers as they make people drive more confidently and more safely.

The 2020 Terrain has a ton to offer drivers, and its slightly-higher price tag makes sense compared to its competitors. GMC did a good job rounding out the 2020 Terrain, and drivers are sure to keep coming back for more with each model year.
