The 2022 Kia EV6 is the Korean automaker’s first fully electric production vehicle, so it’s getting a lot of attention. Boasting some excellent features and perks, the EV6 is a solid addition to the EV market. And if you’re an iPhone user, you’ll want to know whether the 2022 Kia EV6 comes with Apple CarPlay.

Overview of the 2022 model

The 2022 Kia EV6 brings a lot to the table regarding styling and performance. But with anything worthwhile, it comes at a price. Expect to pay at least $42,695, Car and Driver reports.

The EV6 offers an impressive electric driving range of up to 310 miles. You can choose from two batteries and rear- or all-wheel drive. This EV also comes with a range of horsepower capability: It can produce 167 hp to 576 hp, depending upon the trim and options. The most potent powertrain is in the upcoming GT, which Kia claims can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.

Although the 2022 EV6 lacks the cargo space of some rivals, it offers a plush cabin that matches the vehicle’s overall futuristic design.

Does the 2022 Kia EV6 have Apple CarPlay?

Yes, the 2022 Kia EV6 comes with Apple CarPlay. According to Kia, the feature is standard on all EV6 trims, including the Light, Wind, and GT-Line.

For the uninitiated: Apple CarPlay is a feature on the iPhone that allows the user to connect their device to their vehicle. When an iPhone is connected through CarPlay, users can view and use apps through the car’s infotainment screen without touching or looking at their phone, enhancing safety on the road.

CarPlay comes in two main types: standard and wireless. The standard version requires a lightning cable to connect an iPhone to the system. But wireless Apple CarPlay requires no such connection. However, the 2022 Kia EV6 doesn’t have wireless CarPlay, only the hardwired version.

Apple recently introduced some upgrades that will coincide with iOS 16. They allow CarPlay to integrate with every aspect of your vehicle’s operation to control temperature, display speed and fuel level, and much more.

Other helpful tech features on the EV6 include advanced driver assists. Features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, remote parking assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist are standard.

Here’s what we know about the upcoming 2023 Kia EV6

If you’re considering purchasing a Kia EV6, you might wonder what the 2023 model has in store. According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2023 Kia EV6 will start at around $41,000. That price will get you the Light trim, with 167 hp and a 0-to-60-mph time of 8 seconds.

The car will likely achieve a range similar to that of the 2022 model and boast a charging time of only 18 minutes to reach 80%. Likewise, driver safety features will generally resemble those on this year’s model. Though KBB offers no indication of whether to expect wireless Apple CarPlay in the 2023 EV6, we can safely assume all trim levels will at least have hardwired smartphone integration.

With all the EV6 offers, Kia will give Tesla a run for its money. If an affordable electric crossover is what you need, don’t overlook this EV.
