As a Honda truck, the Ridgeline has never been the most popular mid-size pickup. But it does bring a lot to the table, including a standard V6 engine. Recently, rumors have been circulating that Honda might have plans to make a Ridgeline hybrid mid-size truck. Although currently, that has not happened quite yet.

Does Honda make a hybrid Ridgeline?

Currently, there is no Honda Ridgeline hybrid truck model. Some had expected the 2023 Ridgeline to introduce a hybrid engine option. But that has not happened quite yet. The 2023 Honda Ridgeline is a mid-size truck that comes equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine. This powerplant makes 280 horsepower, which is pretty ample power for a vehicle of this size.

Honda is no stranger to making hybrid vehicles. So it does make sense that there could be a hybrid Honda Ridgeline planned for the future. The brand certainly has a variety of hybrid powertrains that it could use.

According to Car and Driver, Honda does have plans to make the Honda Pilot a hybrid. And that means the redesigned Ridgeline mid-size truck could easily become a hybrid.

How much will the Honda Ridgeline hybrid cost?

Until Honda confirms that there will be a Honda Ridgeline hybrid, it is hard to say how much it will cost. It can be assumed that it would be slightly more expensive than the current model. The 2023 Ridgeline has a starting cost of around $40,000.

The best indicator of what will happen to the Ridgeline pickup is what happens to the Pilot SUV. The Honda Ridgeline is actually based on the Pilot. Which is why it is a unibody truck that looks fairly similar to the three-row Honda SUV.

When is the Ridgeline pickup truck getting redesigned?

Some thought 2023 would mark an all-new Honda Ridgeline, but it will likely be here in the coming years. After Honda rolls out the next-gen Pilot, it will probably focus on making an updated Ridgeline. The current Ridgeline has been out since 2017, so it is certainly time for an update.

Hopefully, a new Ridgeline truck will mean the addition of a hybrid powertrain. Then, folks could get a mid-size pickup with additional efficiency and power. Additionally, a new generation of Ridgeline would mean a change in design language to get more in line with Honda’s current thought language.

Will there be any changes to the 2023 Honda Ridgeline?

The Honda Ridgeline trucks on for 2023 without any major changes. This is likely because Honda expects to give its pickup truck a serious update in the near future. It is not exactly clear when that will happen, but it will probably be released after the 2023 Honda Pilot.

As it stands, the Ridgeline is still available in five trim levels. It has a starting MSRP of $38,800, with prices climbing as high as $46,230. Honda’s truck comes standard with a V6 engine and all-wheel drive. But perhaps in the future, maybe Honda builds a hybrid variant of this mid-size truck.
