How can you save the most money on the next SUV you drive? This question might creep into your mind whenever you’re looking for your next ride. If you’re looking for used SUVs with the best MPG, you’ve found a good place to start. When we weed out the hybrids and EVs to give you the best fuel mileage SUV that doesn’t have electrical assistance, these are the pre-owned SUVs that should be on top of your list.

You’ll enjoy ample power from the 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine and could find this used SUV for a low price. The most expensive Kicks shouldn’t cost more than $21,000, giving you an affordable pre-owned SUV with great fuel mileage.

Unlike the Nissan Kicks, the Lexus UX offers an AWD system, which reduces the fuel efficiency but increases the capability of this SUV.

If you’re a city dweller, this could be the pre-owned SUV for you. The 2020 Hyundai Venue offers 32 mpg combined, which is 30 city/32 hwy mpg. You won’t find much power from the 1.6-liter engine that only delivers 121 horsepower and 113 lb-ft of torque. Still, that’s more than enough power for tooling around the city in a used SUV that offers the best MPG without adding a hybrid system.
