Traffic stops are a uniquely vulnerable proposition for both drivers and police officers. Police park their cruisers in specific positions to provide as much protection as possible from distracted drivers and oncoming traffic. However, all the thoughtful parking tactics in the world can’t defend a police officer from a driver who jumps back in their car and nearly strikes him.

A wild driver in flip-flops jumped back in her car during a traffic stop, took off, nearly hit a police officer, and destroyed her car

A traffic stop turned into a viral video after a driver attempted to flee from the police. However, rather than simply pulling away from the cops, she jumped into her stationary vehicle, left all of her belongings behind, and nearly ran over a police officer.

“Stop!” The police officer yelled after the driver as she attempted to leave the traffic stop in her red eighth-generation Pontiac Grand Prix. As the driver tried her daring escape, the police officer reached into the cabin to grab the keys. She accelerated hard, nearly dragging the cop along with her. Her abrupt departure dumped all her belongings off the trunk lid and onto the shoulder.

However, it didn’t take long for the police officer to chase down the bright red Pontiac sedan after the failed traffic stop. The officer pulled in behind a large box truck with half of the Grand Prix stuffed under its rear wheels. She had crashed the Pontiac sedan, breaking it into two pieces and coming to a stop just ahead of the box truck.

“Ma’am stay still,” the officer said to the wayward motorist. “Can I call my girlfriend? To come get the car,” she responded. “Ma’am, your car is in two pieces. You don’t have back tires.” “I wasn’t driving,” she said. The police officer responded with a full-bodied laugh. It isn’t clear whether the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Needless to say, that Grand Prix isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Either piece of it.
