Road test results according to Consumer Reports
According to Consumer Reports, the 2022 BMW 7 Series scored a 5 out of 5 in the Acceleration segment, going 0 to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds. It also took the cake in the Transmission segment, scoring another 5 out of 5. The Braking and Emergency Handling categories also saw high ratings, both earning 4 out of 5 scores. Its handling is so good that it may even seem like you’re driving a smaller car.
The BMW 7 Series scored higher in Consumer Reports’ road tests than the 2022 Porsche Taycan, 2022 Genesis G90, and the 2022 Lexus LS. However, the Audi A8 did come close to outscoring the BMW 7 Series overall. As a matter of fact, while the 7 Series earned an 84 overall score, the Audi A8 was given an 83 overall score. The A8 also scored 96 out of 100 on Consumer Reports’ road test.

All models come equipped with a smooth powertrain. Options range from an inline-six in entry-level 740i models to incredible V12 options.
