On the Consumer Reports list of “most-loved car models that keep owners satisfied,” there are a variety of cars and SUVs listed. When it came time to list satisfying new pickup trucks for 2022, only the Ford F-350 made the cut.

The F-350 is considered a full-size pickup truck. Ford calls it a Super Duty, also known as a Heavy Duty pickup truck. In the full review, Consumer Reports says, “The F-350 is a much heavier truck compared to the popular F-150. The F-350 comes with a 1-ton capacity as opposed to the 1/2 ton of the F-150.”

Though the 2022 Ford F-350 has not been tested, Consumer Reports was able to predict two ratings. The predicted reliability score came in at a two out of five. In contrast, the predicted owner satisfaction score came in at five out of five.

What makes the Ford F-350 a satisfying new pickup truck?

Thus far, 83% of owners would consider repurchasing the 2022 Ford F-350. This truck does have a spotty reliability history dating back to 2015. In 2020, Ford got something right in the F-350 to make it a satisfying new pickup truck. The Ford truck scored a four out of five for reliability.

The owner satisfaction score is another story. Dating back to 2003, the Ford F-350 has been evaluated on and off by Consumer Reports. Things started looking up in 2017 when the F-350 snagged an above-average score for owner satisfaction. The 2020 F-350 scored a five out of five for owner satisfaction, which is the score it still has today.

Since the F-350 is considered a Super Duty or Heavy Duty truck, not all of the same safety and driver assistance features are included. Consumer Reports says that the models that made the list satisfy promises made by the manufacturer. In this case, the 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty is the only satisfying new pickup truck.
