Is the Ram 1500 an off-road truck?

Depending on the trim level, the 2022 Ram 1500 is a truck that is ready for off-road use. Both the Ram Rebel and Ram TRX off the features needed to handle the road less traveled. Consumer Reports notes that the TRX is even able to travel with serious speed on dirt roads thanks to its adaptive suspension and all-terrain tires.

What problems does the 2022 Ram 1500 have?

The Ram 1500 is not immune to problems, in fact, it does have a current recall alert out. The recall has to do with the defrosting and defogging system, which can cause problems with visibility.

Is Ram killing the V8 engine?

In 2021, Dodge announced it may be killing off its V8 engines in lieu of electric powertrains. We can’t imagine Ram getting rid of its V8 truck, but it could very well be a possibility. Although, it is worth noting that Ram just released the TRX model, which utilizes a supercharged V8 engine. This gives the performance truck a leg up on the Ford Raptor with its V6 powertrain.

We do hope that Ram explores the prospect of electric trucks, but sometimes there’s just no replacement for displacement. And the Ram brand is known for its V8 engines.
