Consumer Reports Would Change This 1 Feature About the 2022 Mazda CX-30

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 is a crossover sized below the CX-5 and it competes with several other popular SUVs on the market. While Consumer Reports has some major praises to give this vehicle, the publication does note some shortcomings. For some reason, the new CX-30 does not offer a touchscreen. Which is something that many compact crossovers do have. Even when utilizing Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, the driver must use controls in order to operate the infotainment system.

While many new SUV models come equipped with convenient touchscreens, according to Consumer Reports, the 2022 CX-30 does not. In order to operate the infotainment screen, there are controls on the center console, or the driver can control the screen using steering wheel controls. While the lack of a touchscreen probably isn’t a dealbreaker, it is a downside of this new crossover model.

Touchscreens do help to increase the usability of infotainment systems. Instead of having to worry about control dials, they operate much like a smartphone. Consumer Reports does state that the controls do feel pleasant to use. So that is a small perk and good attention to detail from Mazda.

Yes, generally speaking, the CX-30 is a good crossover. It is slightly larger than the Mazda CX-3, which gives it an advantage over Mazda’s other crossover. Even though the infotainment system can be frustrating to use at times, it is something that most owners will likely get used to.
