Nissan Titan interior

According to Consumer Reports, there are three that stand out above the rest. With better than average reliability ratings, road test scores, and overall review scoring each of these rumbles past others to take a spot in the top three best full-size pickup trucks.

The 2020 Nissan Titan

Of the best full-size pickup trucks, this one is third from the top. The Nissan Titan squeaked by with an overall score of 58. Of the top three best trucks on this list, the 2020 Titan has the best miles per gallon average of 16. However, this is actually lower than the GMC and Chevy models on the list that rated nearer to the bottom.

2020 Nissan Titan

The 2020 Nissan Titan earned a great road test rating of 70, but its price range is a bit higher than some of the others coming in at $36,190 – $58,690.

Cr praises the 2020 Titan for its competitive standard safety features, but the review dogs the Nissan pickup truck for its “steeper depreciation.” In spite of some pretty average looking ratings, this 2020 Nissan truck is doing alright in third place among other full-size 2020 trucks.

With an overall score of 62 the 2020 Toyota Tundra is runner up for the CR best full-size pickup truck of 2020. This Toyota truck received a road test scoring of only 59, but it makes up for its bumpy utilitarian ride with good predicted reliability scores.

Costing from $33,575 – $52,930, the Toyota Tundra offers several different trim options with varying perks and capabilities. It’s a versatile truck with Toyota’s reliable reputation and retained value keeping it up at the top.

Though CR praises the 2020 Tundra’s off-road and towing prowess, the low miles per gallon average of 15 mpg is disappointing. Additionally, the Tundra is reviewed as a dated and less refined pickup than some of the more modern models available.

The tough Toyota Tundra

The 2020 Ram 1500 Classic

This Ram pickup truck is one of the best full-size trucks of 2020 with an overall CR rating of 68. With a starting price range of $28,200 – $44,380, the 2020 Ram 1500 Classic is a lot for the money and takes the top spot among the other full-size trucks on the CR list.

The 2020 Ram truck sports the same embarrassing low miles per gallon as the 2020 Tundra –– as is characteristic of the entire class, really. But CR says “a unique coil-spring rear suspension gives it a smooth ride and the interior is whisper-quiet,” which really makes this one stand out as one of the best full-size pickup trucks.

The Ram 1500 Classic gets the dirty jobs done, but it’s a ride loaded with quality and comfort. It lack’s in its height as far as convenience goes, and doesn’t offer a step up into the truck bed as some other models do.

Overall best full-size pickup truck

There is always something good and bad to say about each model. According to Consumer Reports, these three had the longest list of positives. The 2020 Nissan Titan, the 2020 Toyota Tundra, and the 2020 Ram 1500 Classic earned the highest CR scores overall and are the best full-size pickup trucks on the list.
