Consumer Reports’ 5 of the Best New Cars Deals for Fourth of July

Getting a good new car deal at any time of the year is a good thing, however, waiting for a holiday weekend, like the Fourth of July, can yield an even better deal. Persistence can definitely pay off and if you’re looking to venture out to a car dealership this weekend, then are some potential prices that you should know about. Fortunately, Consumer Reports put together a list early so as notify readers of the savings that are currently going for this holiday weekend. Here are five of the best ones.

2020 Volvo XC60

MSRP: $49,150

Average Savings: $5,351

Average Sale Price: $42,799

The Volvo XC60 is now in its second generation and provides a smaller solution to those not looking to step up to the bigger size of the XC90. The XC60 exudes all of the elegance, simplicity, and safety features that we have come to expect from the Swedish brand, all for a reasonable and competitive price. It’s powered by a twin-charged 250-horsepower engine and offers a less-sporty, yet comfortable ride over rivals like the Audi Q5 and BMW X3.

Luckily, if you’re shopping for an XC60 this weekend, then you can likely get an almost-unheard of 12 percent off the MSRP according to Consumer Reports.

2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

MSRP: $56,550

Average Savings: $6,117

Average Sale Price: $50,433

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class was just redesigned for the 2017 model year and with the change came improved ride and handling characteristics. Of course, you can still expect the E-Class to have the same luxurious amenities and ride comfort as it’s stablemates while cocooning its occupants in a quiet cabin. The E-Class is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine, however, stepping up to the E450 yields a more powerful V6 engine. If you’re interested in a Mercedes E-Class, then shoot for an overall discount of 12 percent off MSRP for the E350 4MATIC model.

The 2020 Honda Accord has the reliability and builds quality that we have come to expect from the brand, but also has a lot of safety features, tech goodies, and an optional and potent 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. If you’re in the market, do your best to find an 11 percent discount off of MSRP on the Hybrid EX model.

2020 Acura TLX

And while you may be drawn to wait for the new, keep in mind that you’ll still get a great value with the 2020 model. The current Acura TLX is a great performer that holds itself well against European rivals, and although it’s not as quiet, the TLX does offer a lot of luxurious and tech-savvy features. Buyers can also opt for a choice between a four- and six-cylinder engine and front- or all-wheel drive. If you’re shopping this weekend, look for a 10 percent off the MSRP for the four-cylinder, front-drive model.
