25-year-old Nissan Altima driver has multiple charges after reaching 133 MPH while running from the police
Running from a traffic stop is one of the worst things a driver can do. Not only does this tend to rack up more charges, but it can also be dangerous for everyone involved. This is what happened recently in Connecticut when police tried to pull over a 25-year-old man driving a Nissan vehicle. The situation ended with the man behind bars facing multiple charges.
This man driving a Nissan vehicle tried to evade a traffic stop
Being stopped for a traffic stop is not uncommon, as this is how police officers keep roads safe. According to WFSB, Connecticut police spotted a Nissan vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on October 20th. The police officer verified the driver’s speed, which, at the time, was 98 miles per hour in a 65 MPH zone.
Things didn’t stop there. The driver, Jordan Hamilton, then merged lanes incorrectly as he continued to speed. Of course, the trooper then began to pursue the Nissan Altima to conduct a traffic stop. At a certain point, Jordan even reached speeds of 133 miles per hour as he drove through busy streets. During this time, he even crossed the HOV divider and almost collided with other cars on the road.
From here, the police officer terminated the traffic stop for the safety of other drivers. However, the agency gained the driver’s address from his registration information. They happened to arrive at his home as he was pulling in and then arrested him. Now, Jordan is facing multiple charges. They include illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, operating to endanger, reckless driving, and other traffic violations.
