Audi driver crashed into multiple vehicles while leading police on a dangerous chase
Trying to evade a traffic stop is never a good idea. However, this action can result in a ton of damage, all of which the driver will eventually be responsible for. Sadly, this happened recently in Chicago after a woman tried running from a police officer and ended up causing a crash, which resulted in even more damage.
Here’s what happened.
She caused a car crash and evaded a traffic stop before causing damage to a hospital
According to Fox 32 Chicago, police officers received a call on November 27th regarding a robbery involving a person driving a black Audi Q5. The police officers later located the car, and as bad luck would have it, the Audi rolled backward into an unmarked police car. From here, officers on the scene tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver, Terry Kahdijah, 30, sped away.
As they continued to try to make the traffic stop, the driver is said to have run a red light and reached 61 MPH in a 40 MPH zone. Sadly, things got worse when she tried to make a right turn and then crashed into a Lexus SUV. Both vehicles are said to have been significantly damaged. Of course, this means she could no longer escape the police using the vehicle.
They ordered her out of the vehicle at this part of the traffic stop. She tried refusing, but they later transferred her to a local hospital. Things were so bad that she had to be handcuffed to the bed. However, she is said to have caused about $7,000 worth of damage to the hospital bed.
Her charges include two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer and one count of criminal damage to property. She also has misdemeanor charges. Notably, a judge denied a request for pre-trial release. She has a hearing scheduled for December 23rd.
