Tell the Ford Lightning and Tesla Cybertruck to move over. The Chevrolet Silverado EV wants a piece of the pie. In order to compete against other EV trucks, the electric Silverado is cutting prices and adding trim levels.

The Chevy Silverado EV launches lower prices

Chevrolet is on to something here. Drivers want cheaper trucks and more choice. That’s why the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV is getting more affordable with new trim levels.

The new Work Truck or 4WT Standard Range model starts at $54,895, which is $2,200 level, and the outgoing 2WT Standard Range model. Also, the 2WT was discontinued.

Plus, the 5WT Extended Range trim starts at $68,295, which is a $1,200 decrease over the 2025 model.  The 8WT Max Range trim was cut by $1,500 and starts at $76,295.

Drivers will probably be the most excited about the addition of the Trail Boss trim. It starts at $72,095. According to GM Authority, the Trail Boss starts at $17,300 less than the 2025 RST trim.

Pricing for the 3WT Standard + Range trim level hasn’t been released. However, this Chevy Silverado model is for fleets only.

The Silverado EV WT has an EPA-estimated 286 miles of range. With the Extended Range pack, you get about 410 miles on a full charge, and the Max Range battery provides about 493 miles of range.

Also, the Silverado EV still qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax credit, making the price much more affordable. The cheapest Ford F-150 Lightning model starts at $49,875 with 240 miles of range.
