Here’s how make your Chevy Silverado 1500 dash stop squeaking
Are you being plagued by your Chevrolet Silverado? Is your Chevy Silverado 1500 dash squeaking, rattling, or creaking while you drive? Well, I have good news because there is a solution to end the squeaky truck madness.
How to get your Chevy Silverado 1500 dash to stop squeaking
If you have a 2024 or 2025 Chevy Silverado truck that’s driving you insane, then you aren’t alone. The Chevy Silverado 1500 dash squeaking problem has been a common occurrence. Impacted models are equipped with the 5.3-liter V8 L84 or 6.2-liter V8 L87 engine.
Drivers have been complaining about it so much that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) decided to investigate the problem.
According to this NHTSA bulletin, the noise could be caused by an O2 sensor connector that makes contact with the truck floor or body.
If you visit a local dealership for service, technicians will inspect your truck. They should make sure that the connector’s plastic retainer is fully installed and properly seated in the corresponding mounting tab hole.
When properly secured, the connector will be prevented from making contact with the Chevy Silverado’s body or floor. The NHTSA instructs technicians to pay attention to warning signs such as squeaking, rattling, creaking, itching, buzzing, squawking, vibrating, or rubbing.
The noise may be duplicated while accelerating, driving over small bumps, brake torquing, or when the engine enters AFM mode.
I’m wondering if General Motors will release an official recall for this issue. Although, I’m not sure if it poses a safety risk aside from causing madness. Also, I hope the repair is free.
