The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST hasn’t even hit the market yet, and it’s already getting a power boost. Considering this electric truck is from one of the Detroit Big Three, is it possible Tim Taylor got hold of this pickup? We can hear Tim Allen, while playing the beloved character on TV’s Home Improvement, yelling “More Power!”

Can you hear the song being sung about the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST and 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali?

Maybe it’s simply throwback Thursday today. The new electric Chevy truck receives the power boost to match the upcoming Sierra model. We can hear the song from Annie with lyrics that say, “anything you can do, I can do better,” although it’s hard to say the Chevy is doing things better than the GMC. These two electric trucks now have the same power level at these top trim models.

How much power does the RST trim of the electric Silverado offer?

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST delivers an impressive power boost to 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Motor1 tells us the original output list for this electric pickup was 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque, which were pretty impressive numbers in their own right.

The RST and Denali are the top trims of these GM electric pickups

In true GM form, both the Chevy and GMC trucks will bring the same output, even when offered in EV models. The GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 was recently revealed with the same power level that reflects an upgrade for the Chevy. It’s pretty amazing that GM found more power for these trucks before any consumers take delivery of the orders for these trucks.

When will the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST go on sale?

The RST won’t be the first Chevy electric pickup offered, but it should arrive in the fall of 2023. The GMC counterpart will not arrive until the early part of 2024, but consumers can currently order both trucks.

How can these peak power levels be used in these electric GM trucks?

The power rating quoted represents the top power offered in certain drive modes. For the Silverado EV RST, this means engaging the Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode. The Sierra EV has a similar feature but it’s called Max Power. Because these trucks operate solely on electricity, both have instant access to the entire torque range and provide sprint power to 60 mph, which only takes about 4.5 seconds.

Which version of the electric Chevy Silverado will arrive first?

The spring of 2023 will be the dawning of the electric age of Chevy trucks. The first model to market will be the Silverado EV WT which competes directly with the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro trim. This Silverado delivers 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, offering an impressive power package to give consumers a great option in the half-ton electric truck class.

Can you hear Tim Taylor grunting away about this truck?

Before ever hitting the market, Chevy gave the Silverado EV RST more power. It’s almost a direct line from Home Improvement with the multiple approving grunts and noises coming from Tim Taylor. Hopefully, this truck won’t have the same results as many of the appliances that the Tim character upgraded with more power on the show.
