Is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good pickup truck? 

Yes, the 2021 Chevrolet 2500HD is a good pickup truck. If you want a heavy hauler that can handle nearly any gnarly job, a heavy duty pickup truck is it. The 2021 Chevrolet 2500HD is a great option for those that need more power from their diesel truck than the smaller ½ ton trucks (like the Silverado 1500) can offer. 

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is a heavy duty pickup truck with seating for up to six adults. According to Cars.com, it’s poised to compete with others like the Ford F-250 and the Ram 2500. Options include three different cabs and two bed lengths. 

There is a standard gasoline-powered 401 hp 6.6 liter V8 for the 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. However, for those that want even more power for heavy jobs can opt for the turbodiesel 6.6 liter V8 that generates 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque. There are both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options.

The max towing capacity of the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is 14,500 lbs. The maximum payload is 3,857 lbs.

There is a new Carhartt edition for the LTZ 2500HD crew cab Chevy Silverado. This gives this big truck an elevated interior in terms of style. There are signature embroidered head restraints that enhance the black and brown two-tone leather trim.

There is new towing tech like a jackknife alert and a trailer-length indicator. Plus, there is a new camera that gives drivers an enhanced view of the cargo bed. If you’ve ever backed up a fifth-wheel trailer for hitching, you know how helpful this feature must be. There are also new editions apart from the Carhart Edition trim. 

According to Car and Driver, buyers may like the new Midnight Edition and the Z71 Sport Edition. There is also the Z71 Chrome Edition that’s a little more flashy. Overall, these trucks are heavy haulers with style. While it may be a little weird that two Chevrolet heavy duty pickup trucks are the most popular pickup trucks according to Cars.com, it’s no secret why consumers love them so much.
