Tesla vehicles are the most popular electric cars on the planet. In the past, they were not very affordable. However, with recent price cuts, they are more financially accessible. This is especially the case for the new 2023 Tesla Model 3, the cheapest Tesla car in 2023. Also, according to Consumer Reports, the Model 3 is the most reliable car for the EV automaker.

Following the recent price cut, the new 2023 Tesla Model 3 has a starting cost of $40,240, which makes it the cheapest Tesla car in 2023. The next most affordable one, the 2023 Model Y crossover SUV, which also received a price cut, starts at $47,240.

Following those two electric cars, the next cheapest new Tesla EVs in 2023 are the Model S sports sedan and the Model X SUV. They are considerably more expensive — with a starting price of $87,490 for the Model S and $97,490 for the Model X.

There are a couple of other Tesla vehicles that haven’t yet been released: the Cybertruck pickup truck and the next-generation Roadster. It’s uncertain if either of these vehicles will arrive before the end of 2023. However, since these two EVs will undoubtedly cost considerably more than the Model 3, the small electric sports sedan will continue to be the cheapest Tesla car.

Along with being the most affordable Tesla car in 2023, the new 2023 Model 3 is also the most reliable. Over the years, reliability has been a controversial issue for Tesla. While Tesla vehicles are at the forefront of EV technology, they haven’t fared well for dependability — evidenced by low reliability ratings from Consumer Reports in the past.

However, this dependability has improved, as shown by the 2023 Tesla Model 3. It’s the most reliable Tesla car, according to Consumer Reports. Per KBB, CR released an Auto Reliability Survey, which revealed the most dependable electric cars. And the Model 3 is second only to the Kia EV6 on the list. Also, the Model Y and Model S placed fifth and eighth, respectively. However, the Model X didn’t make the cut.

For the Auto Reliability Survey, Consumer Reports collected hundreds of thousands of surveys from vehicle owners over the previous year. Owners identified various problem areas, such as leaks, paint, engine, electric system, brakes, and noises. Since the Model 3 had the fewest number of issues in these problem areas, Consumer Reports identified it as the most reliable Tesla car.

The reliability of the Model 3 makes it affordable to own

One of the biggest benefits of the high reliability of the Model 3 is it makes the electric sports sedan more affordable to own. With fewer problems, there’s less need for costly repairs. Plus, there’s a greater likelihood that the EV will last for many miles and years. Other benefits include optimal performance and safety.

For electric car shoppers that aim to minimize the financial strain on their budget, the new 2023 Tesla Model 3 is a relatively affordable choice. It’s the cheapest Tesla car in 2023. And with favorable marks from Consumer Reports, the small sports sedan is also the most reliable car in the Tesla EV lineup.
