In addition to being the cheapest new luxury car in 2023, the 2023 Acura Integra is also the safest. This is exemplified by it recently winning an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award. This is the highest safety honor that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety bestows upon vehicles.

IIHS determines its Safety Pick awards following a rigorous series of crash tests and safety evaluations. For 2023, IIHS set the bar even higher — with stricter criteria — which makes the award for the Integra especially impressive, particularly with it being an all-new model.

The compact sports sedan performed very well in the IIHS crash tests and safety evaluations. This includes tests for impact to the front, side, and roof, as well as tests for crash avoidance and mitigation.

Safety features in the Acura Integra

Safety for the 2023 Acura Integra starts with its Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, which provides optimal protection during collisions. It also has an array of airbags, including front, front side, front knee, side curtain, and rear outboard passenger’s side.

Furthermore, the affordable luxury car comes standard with many safety-enhancing driving assistance features. This includes a collision mitigation braking system, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, and a multi-angle rearview camera. Other available driving assistance technologies include a blind-spot information system, low-speed braking control, and a rear cross-traffic alert monitoring system.

Integra returns after a long hiatus

Acura discontinued the Integra in 2006. With such an avid following during its heyday, there has long been a push to bring the iconic sports sedan back. This finally became a reality in 2023.

The all-new 2023 Integra greatly impresses with its athletic and muscular look. It pays homage to the models of decades past — while providing good driving dynamics, premium amenities, and advanced technologies.

On top of all that, the 2023 Acura Integra is affordable and safe. It’s the cheapest new luxury car in 2023 — and also the safest — with it earning the coveted IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award.
