Full-size SUVs are popular choices for families, with their spacious cabins and comfort and convenience features. Some models in the segment are expensive, though — and not an affordable option for many automotive shoppers. This is especially the case with high inflation pushing up prices higher and higher. However, there’s a vehicle that’s more financially accessible than the rest: the 2023 Nissan Armada. It’s the cheapest new full-size SUV — and a big family bargain.

A bargain doesn’t always mean getting something at a rock-bottom price. It also means excellent value for the money. And when factoring in its capabilities and desirable features, the 2023 Nissan Armada is a great value choice for families.

All models of the cheapest new full-size come equipped with a beefy 5.6-liter V-8 engine. Mated to a smooth-shifting seven-speed automatic transmission, it doles out 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. Buyers of the full-size SUV can get it equipped with either a front-wheel drive or a traction-enhancing all-wheel drive system.

Also, despite its large size, the Armada handles well, which can be credited in part to its fully independent rear suspension. Plus, the Armada boasts impressive towing capabilities. It can tow up to 8,500 pounds.

The reasonably affordable full-size SUV has a cavernous interior. It can seat up to eight people — with a total passenger volume of 157 cu-ft and a generous amount of legroom and headroom. Plus, it has a maximum cargo capacity of 92.6 cu-ft, providing plenty of space to store your family’s gear.

Furthermore, the Armada offers many useful features. This includes a dual-zone automatic climate control system, remote engine start, heated and cooled seats, a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Amazon Alexa Built-In, and a tri-zone entertainment system.

What’s new for the 2023 Armada?

After getting a refreshed design a couple of years ago, the changes for the 2023 Nissan Armada are relatively minor. The aforementioned Amazon Alexa Built-In is a new feature for the SV, SL, and Platinum trims. Also, the SV trim now comes standard with an auto-dimming rearview mirror, LED foglights, and remote start. Additionally, Nissan added a heated steering wheel to the SL trim.

For those that desire a relatively affordable large vehicle for family excursions, the 2023 Nissan Armada is a solid pick. It’s the cheapest new full-size SUV. And with all that it has to offer, the Armada is a big family bargain.
