It’s worth noting that a base model Tacoma does not come with heated seats. According to Edmunds, the desirable feature is first unlocked with the TRD Sport trim. However, heated seats aren’t a standard feature for the Tacoma TRD Sport. Instead, they’re available as a part of the Premium Sport package. This package is unavailable for cheaper trim levels, like SR5 and SR. Most trim levels above the TRD Sport come standard with the same equipment and more.

For a Tacoma TRD Sport, it’ll cost you $36,530. However, buying the Premium Sport package adds even more to the bill. According to Toyota, the package costs $1,945. As a result, the Tacoma TRD Sport is $37,220 with the package and no other extras. Moreover, many optional features are available, but this is the cheapest way to get a Tacoma with heated seats.

The first model in the 2022 Toyota Tacoma lineup to come with standard heated seats is the Limited trim. As a result, buyers must skip the SR, SR5, TRD Sport, and TRD Off-Road. Both the TRD Sport and Off-Road offer heated seats as an option. However, every Tacoma Limited comes with the feature no matter what. According to Toyota, the Limited model costs $41,120 after a delivery fee. As a result, it’s more expensive than a TRD Sport with the Premium Sport package.

Furthermore, the Limited trim comes with plenty of other upgrades. For example, a 360-degree camera, navigation, a JBL audio system, leather upholstery, a sunroof, blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and more. In addition, the Nightshade Special Edition package is unlocked for this trim. You’ll find only cosmetic upgrades within the package, like black-painted wheels.

Is the TRD Sport worth buying?

As the cheapest version of the 2022 Toyota Tacoma with heated seats, the TRD Sport is desirable. However, does it provide enough bang for your buck? According to Edmunds, the best trim level to buy is the TRD Off-Road. Moreover, it’s listed one slot above the TRD Sport and starts at $36,555. It’s very similar to its cheaper alternative but accentuates the Tacoma’s off-road prowess.

For example, a TRD Off-Road comes with a lockable rear differential, Bilstein shock absorbers, and an advanced off-road traction system. Edmunds says it’s worth the price even if you won’t do much off-roading. Best of all, it’s nearly an identical price to the TRD Sport. Unfortunately, you’ll need the $5,070 TRD Premium Off-Road Package to get heated seats with this model. As a result, your Tacoma jumps to $41,625.
