Does it surprise you that the 2023 version of the Chevy Blazer SUV will be the fifth year in the current generation? It feels like this nameplate just hit the scene, but here we are on the verge of the fifth model year for this new SUV. Each year Chevrolet has found a way to make the Blazer better, and this year they take things a bit farther for this SUV.

It’s not time for the electric Blazer; what charging are we talking about?

Some trims of previous model years of the Chevy Blazer offered wireless phone charging, but that’s expanding. Instead of being limited to only the top trims, GM Authority tells us the Blazer offers this feature at every trim level for the 2023 model year. This ensures you have a clean charging solution, no matter which model of this SUV you drive.

How can you get wireless charging in the base 2023 Chevy Blazer SUV?

The wireless charging feature is not standard fare across the board for 2023, but it is available for all trims. To add this item to the base, 2LT trim, consumers must select the Convenience Package for their SUVs. For the 3LT trim, the Sound & Technology package includes wireless charging to make this feature available to owners. These changes are an improvement over the 2022 model, which only offered wireless charging for the RS, and Premier trims as an option.

Will Chevy redesign the Blazer?

Yes, they have, and the 2023 model is the redesigned Chevy Blazer SUV. The front and rear receive upgraded styling elements along with:

  • Updated LED headlights and taillights
  • A new 10-inch infotainment display
  • Four new exterior colors
  • A new Nightshift Blue interior treatment for the RS trim

What do these changes mean for this Chevy SUV?

The new infotainment screen is larger than the outgoing model, and the new colors give us some impressive options when we want a vehicle that stands out in a crowd. The new light elements should make this SUV safer and provide more visibility at night, while the new interior treatment offers RS owners something unique in their Blazer.

Are those new wheels on that 2023 Chevy Blazer?

Why, yes, they are. The 2023 version delivers more upgrades with new shoes to finish the look. Car and Driver tells us these new wheel designs come in 18, 20, and 21-inch sizes to give us a great way to see the finished product before this Chevy SUV heads to the EV market.

If you’re thinking about one of those new colors to go with these wheels, the colors added are:

  • Fountain Blue
  • Sterling Gray Metallic
  • Copper Bronze Metallic
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat

Did Chevy change the powertrains for the 2023 Blazer SUV?

No, the next model year of the Blazer continues to use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 228 horsepower or a 3.6-liter V6 that offers 308 horsepower. Both use a nine-speed automatic transmission with either FWD or AWD.

When will the 2023 model arrive?

The new 2023 Chevy Blazer SUV arrived later this summer to give you a new, sporty SUV to drive. Now that you can have wireless charging on every trim, will this be the SUV you drive?
