The House of Gucci is a crime drama based on real events set in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. It follows Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) as she marries into the Gucci family of fashion fame. Because of the era of the film and the wealth of the characters, it features many incredible Radwood-era cars. Automotive stars include a 1988 Lamborghini Countach, Fiat 124 Spider, Porsche 924, and Mercedes-Benz Heckleflosse.

In the House of Gucci film, Adam Driver plays Maurizio Gucci, heir to the Gucci brand. The Gucci company was founded back in 1921, so Maurizio grew up rich. The House of Gucci opens in 1978. At some point during the film’s events, Maurizio buys a Lamborghini–according to the Internet Movie Car Database.

In the trailer, Adam Driver gets into a Lamborghini Countach 25th anniversary edition. Italian supercar maker, Lamborghini, built the original Countach from 1974 through 1990. At its launch, the car was aesthetically daring. The Countach pioneered the now-ubiquitous “Italian Wedge” supercar shape. The Countach makes a fitting car for the heir to an Italian fashion empire.

The car in the film is the 25th anniversary edition of the Countach. This special model was designed by Horacio Pagani and features the largest engine of any Countach: a 5.2-liter V12. House of Gucci is not the first film to star a 25th anniversary Lamborghini Countach. Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort memorably crashed the same model in Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street.

The Lamborghini Countach is not Maurizio Gucci’s only Italian icon. Adam Driver was also seen driving a Vespa scooter as Maurizio while filming The House of Gucci.

The ‘House of Gucci’ also features stylish Porsches, Mercedes, and Lincolns

Jared Leto is barely recognizable as Paolo Gucci. The House of Gucci trailer shows Paolo getting out of a Porsche 924 to confront Maurizio. A fitting detail is that the fashion-minded Paolo had his Porsche outfitted with the Pasha interior.

The Gucci family owns many beautiful classic cars in House of Gucci. We see members of the fashion dynasty getting into a 1966 Lincoln Continental and multiple Mercedes-Benz S-Class cars. In one scene, a distinct Heckflosse Mercedes-Benz pulls up in front of a Gucci mansion. This beautiful era of Mercedes had tasteful fins, though the German carmaker insisted on calling them “parking aids.”

While filming House of Gucci, Lady Gaga drove a vintage Fiat 124 Spider convertible as Patrizia Reggiani. Patrizia’s Fiat sports car appears to be fitted with a removable hardtop. It is featured in scenes shot in Milan and Rome.

There are obviously many characters in House of Gucci who are not Guccis. Their classic vehicles bring some variety to the film. For instance, someone in the trailer is riding a motorcycle along winding mountain roads, in the snow. This bike is a Kawasaki GTR 1000.

Eventually, some of the characters in House of Gucci find themselves on the wrong side of the law. A row of Italian police officers is visible in the trailer. In this movie, the police are driving 1992 Alfa Romeo 155 interceptors.
