Cardi B Reveals the Reason She Has a Car Collection Even Though She Can’t Drive and Doesn’t Have a Driver’s License

Rapper Cardi B once made a guest appearance on Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show with James Corden, a series where celebrities chat and sing along to tunes while driving around with Corden in his Range Rover. During their conversation, the rapper made a somewhat surprising confession. Though she has a rather impressive collection of cars, she’s unable to drive them. (Sort of reminds us of this other non-driver with an impressive car collection.) In Cardi B’s case, not only does she not drive, but she doesn’t even have a license.

In her ride-along with Corden, Cardi B tells James Corden about the cars she currently owns. These include a Bentley Bentayga, a Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster, a Lamborghini Ursus, a Mercedes-Maybach S-class, and a Chevrolet Suburban.

Car and Driver goes into particular detail on the history of the Ursus, which is one of the fastest SUVs on the market. They explain that it’s the most recent addition to her collection. Offset, her now-estranged husband, originally purchased a gray model with a brown interior, but she traded it for a black one with a red interior. Cardi has even rapped about the Ursus in one of her songs, “Bickenhead,” where she raps, “Can’t wait until they drop that Lamborghini truck.”

The rapper’s cars serve a specific purpose, and it’s not transportation

With all those cars in her collection, you’d think Cardi B would be hitting the road frequently. After all, who wouldn’t want to be seen tooling around town in a Bentley?

Cardi, though, doesn’t drive her cars at all. She only purchases them to take photos with them and so that she won’t feel like a poser when she raps about them. She told Cordon that she would feel like an impostor if she rapped about cars that she didn’t own.

That’s not all. Not only does Cardi not drive her cars, but she doesn’t even have a driver’s license. As NME explains, when Olivia Rodrigo first released her smash hit “Driver’s License,” Cardi tweeted, “Just like that girl wrote a song about getting her driver’s license Imma write a song about the struggle of not having a drivers license. I really wanted my McDonald’s at 4am last night instead of today but I couldn’t so I felt asleep hungry.”

In response, Rodrigo tweeted an offer to drive Cardi anywhere she wanted to go. Cardi was elated and proposed a trip to McDonald’s for Happy Meals.

Cardi B’s net worth is impressive

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, is a multitalented performer who has found success as a “rapper, producer, reality television star, activist and entrepreneur,” according to Celebrity Net Worth

She first began her rise to fame through social media, becoming especially popular on Vine and Instagram. From 2015 through 2017, she appeared as a regular cast member on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York.

Cardi’s career took off in 2017 when her single “Bodak Yellow” went diamond. With that, she became the only female rapper ever to have an RIAA song certified diamond. Her album Invasion of Privacy was released the following year and broke quite a few streaming records. It even garnered Cardi a Grammy for “Best Rap Album.”

However, social media is where Cardi truly shines, with more than 100 million Instagram followers, 6 billion YouTube streams, 35+ million monthly Spotify listeners, and 10 million+ TikTok fans.

All of this success has been good for Cardi’s bank account. She’s estimated to have a net worth of around $40 million. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more cars in her collection before too long with all that dough.
