Ram makes some of the best pickup trucks on the market. They’re rugged, include the best modern technology, and have solid exterior looks. However, no automaker is exempt from a car recall, and Ram has just issued a voluntary one. This time, the recall is over the 2025 Ram 1500 that recently hit dealerships. Of course, owners can take their impacted trucks to the auto mechanics at Ram dealers for a free fix.
Ram has a new car recall on its hands concerning the new model of one of the best pickup trucks on the market
Issuing a car recall is the best way to fix a previously unnoticed problem. The great thing in this case is that Ram is taking action early. According to the NHTSA, some 2025 Ram 1500 models may have damaged parts. Specifically, this recall concerns issues with the front wheel-bearing encoder rings. Notably, this damaged part could cause the speed wheel sensor to lose its signal. This defect could also disable the Electronic Stability Control. Of course, this makes the possibility of crashing more likely.
These models included in the car recall were manufactured between October 13, 2023, and August 11, 2024. Luckily, they noticed the defective part and corrected the issue after that. There are 33,777 Ram 1500 models included. However, Ram has said it only thinks 1% of the trucks have the defect.
As is typically the case with a car recall, auto mechanics at Ram dealers will fix the issue. They will inspect the bearing rings and replace them if they are damaged. Luckily, people who have already paid to fix the problem are in luck. Ram will offer a reimbursement as long as the owners have proof of payment. The automaker is in the process of notifying dealerships and plans to send notification letters to owners around the middle of December.
