Year in and year out, loads of car manufacturers take a stab at a cheeky Super Bowl commercial. Which one will be the most talked-about this year? We have the roundup of different companies and what silly Super Bowl ad will debut during the big game. Super Bowl LVI takes place on Sunday, February 13, and will feature ads from BMW, General Motors, Kia, Nissan, and Toyota. Here are the car manufacturer Super Bowl ads we already know about, including Arnold Schwarzenegger as Zeus.

BMW features Arnold Schwarzenegger as Zeus in Super Bowl ad

The Terminator, the Kindergarten Cop, Hercules, Conan the Barbarian, and many more movies feature the iconic former California governor. According to CarScoops, a Super Bowl ad for BMW features the same actor playing Zeus, the god of the sky in ancient Greek mythology. As you might’ve guessed, the lightning god is used to advertise the automaker’s new lineup of electric vehicles. Models like the iX and i4 use only a battery and electric motor, so Zeus is the perfect person to show them off.

Nissan’s Super Bowl ad features Eugene Levy, Danai Gurira, Dave Bautista

Although we don’t know the role of each actor just yet, Nissan’s teaser video says they’ll all be there on the big day. Setup as an action-comedy-thriller movie premiere, Nissan presents “Thrill Driver,” starring the automaker’s brand new Z sports coupe. What better way to advertise a fun-to-drive sports car? Putting it right into Nissan’s own custom action movie with a few familiar faces seems best. This seems like one of the most interesting car manufacturer Super Bowl ads that’ll certainly garner attention.

For the third consecutive year, General Motors will appear

The GMC HUMMER EV SUV completes the HUMMER EV family and features a 126.7-inch wheelbase for tight proportions and a maneuverable body, providing remarkable on- and off-road capability.

For the third year in a row, GM has a spot during the Super Bowl, unlike many others. Unfortunately, it failed to provide any details about what’s coming. We’re in for a surprise from GM on the big day, with no teaser video available at all. The possibilities are endless, with new vehicles and redesigns everywhere for the brand. If the company chooses the electrified route alone, we could see the Hummer EV, Silverado EV, and maybe even the electric Escalade.

Kia EV6 ad will run during Super Bowl LVI

Kia confirmed a few weeks ago that it would run a Super Bowl ad this year. The company has a 60-second spot which will be the 13th time it appeared during the big game. Kia released a very short teaser featuring the Kia EV6 and a robotic dog “that embarks on a journey to find its true companion.”

How many car manufacturers will run ads during the Super Bowl?

This year, there are already five automakers confirmed for February 13. That’s a lot compared to last year, where only Stellantis, GM, and Toyota participated. Since it is still a few weeks away, even more companies could announce their ads before the big day. Upwards of five automaker ads is a lot, even for the biggest commercial-watching day of the year. Hopefully, BMW’s ad will inspire someone to make a Greek mythology movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Zeus sooner than later.
