What do Car and Driver say about the Grand Cherokee 4xe?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is an impressive vehicle, and it truly does take the Jeep brand to the hybrid drivetrain market. Car and Driver report that the Grand Cherokee, in all of its forms, is a wonderful vehicle. The ride is smooth and the driving experience is very enjoyable. The torque power produced by the hybrid drivetrain makes the four-cylinder engine feel much peppier than typical midsize SUV offerings.

Despite these great improvements over the non-hybrid Grand Cherokee, Car, and Driver doesn’t recommend the 4xe due to its high price, which starts at $16,830 over the base V6 model.

Of course, tax credits could help, depending on your location, but in the end, you are paying a premium of over $16,000 for better gas mileage, which will take years and years to pay off. If you are set on a7q` Grand Cherokee and you can find a great deal on one, it can be worth it, but only if you plan on driving it for the long run.
