I apologize for slacking on true crime truck content. But now I can report on some California police officers for finding a body in the back of a U-Haul truck. They just give those trucks out to anyone! You really never know what people are moving.

California police find body hidden in the back of U-Haul truck

Police officers in Lancaster, California reported to perform a routine welfare check on a missing person. This was around 1:50 AM at the Shadow Park Inn Motel.

Las Angeles County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Steve De Jong noted that once police officers arrived, they noticed a U-Haul truck leaving the scene.

The incident occurred at the 44000 black of Sierra Highway. Also, security footage at the motel showed the truck leaving just before officers arrived.

They decided to check the truck out but lost sight of it for a while. A few hours later, the moving truck was discovered at a residence on Beech Avenue. Then they found an open trash bin in the back with a deceased adult male inside of it.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the scene broke out in chaos. Multiple people were detained. It’s unclear if anyone was arrested, and there are several unanswered questions.

The name of the deceased has not been released and the LA County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. There is an ongoing investigation as detectives continue working on the case.
