For 2022, the Nissan Frontier can tow up to 6,720 pounds. With the 3.8-liter V6 engine, it benefits from 310 horsepower and 281 pound-foot of torque. It is worth noting, in order to get the maximum tow rating, the Frontier must be equipped with 2WD. 4WD models do not offer the same amount of towing ability.

In terms of payload, according to Car and Driver, the Nissan Frontier can handle up to 1,610 lbs of payload. Which adds to the overall utility of this mid-size truck.

Is it worth it to get a 4WD truck?

Determining whether or not 4WD is worth it for your needs includes a few factors. If you are not driving your truck in snow, on rugged terrain, or other harsh conditions. It is likely that 2WD will satisfy your needs. But, if you find yourself in a situation where 4WD is necessary, it can be a headache-saving feature to have.
