The 2021 BMW X7 is already one of the most luxurious SUVs on the road. However, if you want protection from bullets and grenades, a standard version of this BMW won’t help you. Thankfully, INKAS, a Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer, has the solution.

As you might expect, it is impossible to tell that this X7 is anything other than a standard SUV. However, thanks to upgraded glass and bodywork, this SUV can get you just about anywhere safely and quickly.

How can this 2021 BMW X7 survive grenades and assault rifle fire?

The recipe to create a bulletproof 2021 BMW X7 is quite complex but highly effective. For starters, INKAS reports that you get reinforced glass throughout to secure the entire passenger compartment. While the Canadian manufacturer offers various armor levels, the top trim can withstand fire from assault rifles using 7.62mm rounds.

Additionally, this 2021 BMW X7 features reinforced door hinges and other key structural components. As a result, this SUV can withstand a blast from two DM51 hand grenades. To ensure that you say on the road, INKAS gave this SUV a reinforced suspension and run-flat tires. Part of the suspension upgrade is put in place to handle the extra weight the armoring inevitably brings.

Since this is still a 2021 BMW X7, you get a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 under the hood producing 523 hp and 553 lb-ft. Thanks to the quick powertrain, even this heavy variant should be able to escape any potential danger.

Like any vehicle manufacturer, there are optional extras you can add to your armored SUV. These include heavy-duty brakes, a fire suppression system, heavy-duty wheels, a sire/intercom system, and even emergency lights.

How much does it cost?

If this 2021 BMW X7 is beginning to sound expensive, that’s because it likely is. We say likely because INKAS doesn’t publicly advertise how much the armored SUV is. For starters, a standard X7 utilized for this conversion on its own costs just shy of $100,000. Additionally, since there are various armament levels, all of the SUVs will carry different price tags.

However, for a bit of context, let’s look at another of INKAS’ creations. Last year, Business Insider reported that the manufacturer unveiled an SUV called the Sentry Civilian. Aside from being a luxurious bulletproof SUV, it was completely customizable and had a base price of $350,000. As a result, expect your life-saving 2021 BMW X7 to also go deep into the six figures.

What if I don’t want an X7?

If you want a life-saving SUV but don’t want a 2021 BMW X7, INKAS has plenty of other options. Since part of having an armored vehicle is the fact that you’re undetectable, offering several models is a major plus.

On the company’s site, you’ll find a variety of armored vehicles. These include a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Chevrolet Tahoe, Lincoln Navigator, Bentley Bentayga, Toyota Land Cruiser, and even a Toyota Sienna. As a result, it would be challenging for potential thieves to spot you. Additionally, it shows that some of the vehicles we see daily could be secretly armed fortresses.
