Bugatti Just Built a Rule-Breaking Carbon Fiber Hyperbike

For over a century, Bugatti has defined the absolute pinnacle of automotive engineering, pushing the boundaries of speed, aerodynamics, and exclusivity. Now, the legendary hypercar manufacturer is taking that exact same philosophy and applying it to human-powered performance.

Partnering with Factor Bikes, a boutique, engineering-first bicycle manufacturer based in Norfolk, UK, the automaker has officially revealed the Bugatti Factor ONE. It is a high-performance bicycle engineered without compromise, completely ignoring traditional racing rulebooks to achieve maximum aerodynamic efficiency.

Tearing Up the Rulebook for Ultimate Speed

Factor Bikes, founded by former professional cyclist and carbon-engineering pioneer Rob Gitelis, is already famous for building some of the fastest racing bikes on the planet. However, professional cycling is heavily regulated by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), which places strict limitations on frame geometry and aerodynamic elements.

For the Bugatti Factor ONE, the engineering team decided to completely abandon the UCI rulebook. Free from those restrictions, Factor and Bugatti developed a radically sculpted frame featuring a significantly wider fork stance and incredibly low drag numbers. If a feature didn’t deliver a measurable aerodynamic or structural advantage, it was scrapped.

“The Bugatti Factor ONE is not simply a bicycle. It is a statement. This project challenged us to rethink every assumption and push engineering boundaries in the same way Bugatti has done in the automotive world for over a century,” Rob Gitelis, Founder of Factor Bikes, explained in an official Bugatti press release.

Hypercar DNA Meets Two Wheels

Visually, the Factor ONE is a striking mirror of Bugatti’s four-wheeled hyper sports cars. The carbon fiber frame features the automaker’s signature two-tone split graphic, adorned in the historic Bugatti Blue—the exact shade that represented France during the Type 35’s dominance in 1920s Grand Prix racing.

Prominent white ‘BUGATTI’ script lines the frame, while the front of the bike bears the iconic ‘Dancing Elephant’ emblem. Originally sculpted by Rembrandt Bugatti (brother of company founder Ettore Bugatti), the elephant is a subtle nod to the brand’s rich artistic heritage.

“The Bugatti Factor ONE is the result of a shared vision between two brands devoted to mastery and ambition. Every element of this bicycle, like the wide fork, for example, has been meticulously engineered to deliver measurable aerodynamic gains, reducing drag through refined shaping and optimized airflow management around the leading edge of the bike,” noted Wiebke Ståhl, Managing Director of Brand & Licensing at Bugatti International, via the Bugatti release.

Ståhl added that the bike translates the automaker’s “incomparable attention to detail… into a completely new category.”

Bespoke, Ultra-Lightweight Hardware

The extreme engineering goes far beyond the carbon frame. The bike is outfitted with custom-tailored components designed specifically for this collaboration, including a bespoke Selle Italia saddle, CARBON-TI chainrings and rotors, and specialized Continental tires.

The crown jewel of the hardware list, however, is the Black Inc Bugatti Hyper 62 Wheelset. Designed as the cycling equivalent of a hypercar wheel, the pair weighs an astonishingly light 1,298 grams. The 62 mm rim profile is optimized for high-speed cruising and crosswind stability, utilizing co-molded boomerang spokes and precision-engineered hub internals to ensure maximum power transfer with every pedal stroke.

A Highly Exclusive Machine

Just like the Chiron and the Veyron before it, you won’t see the Bugatti Factor ONE at your local park very often. The bike is intended for serious collectors and elite athletes, with production strictly capped at just 250 individually numbered units worldwide.

The Bugatti Factor ONE will make its official public debut during a joint unveiling event in Shanghai on March 18, 2026.
