Last year, Buc-ee’s opened its biggest travel center to date, and it is a beast. Located in Luling, Texas, the massive new site covers 75,000 square feet. It’s also equipped with 120 fuel pumps, making it the largest location in the company’s lineup.
The new facility replaced the original Luling Buc-ee’s, which opened more than two decades ago
The OG location, of course, played a key role in shaping the Buc-ee’s brand.
It was the company’s first full-scale travel center. Last year, it was reimagined on a much, much larger scale to meet growing demand.
Before the new Luling location’s launch, the title of biggest Buc-ee’s belonged to a store in Sevierville, Tennessee that came in at 74,000 square feet.
Opening day included a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Texas Governor Greg Abbott and several local leaders, Fox Business shared last June. The company said the new site was expected to bring at least 200 new jobs to the area.
It’s part roadside pit stop, part shopping destination, and part Texas-sized institution
Inside, hungry drivers can find a wide selection of Buc-ee’s staples, including Beaver Chips, chopped or sliced brisket sammies, Beaver Nuggets, Bohemian Garlic Beef Jerky, and banana pudding.
In March, Sharon and Jamie, the travel YouTubers who run the channel Sharon at Sea Travel, posted their walk-through of the record-breaking convenience store. You can watch it below.
At the time, the launch of the new Luling location brought Buc-ee’s total store count to 49. Most are in Texas, but the brand continues to grow in other states as well.
The Harrison County, Mississippi, location opens June 9. Rockingham County, Virginia’s grand opening is later next month, on June 30. Finally, Brunswick, Georgia, cuts its ribbon on July 1.
