For the iX, i4, and i7 models, the battery pack could cause a loss of power due to a software issue. This recall notice spans cars manufactured in February 2021 and October 2022.

BMW aims to assist owners of these vehicles by providing a software update for free. If you have received a recall notice, you can take your car to the dealership to have the repair done. Owner notification letters will be mailed by February 10th, 2023. If you have a vehicle in that range and are curious if yours is affected, a contact number is attached to the recall. The software update for the high-voltage battery ECU will stop the potential interruption and loss of power.
