BMW Fans Already Love the New M5 and Can’t Wait to Drive One

There’s just something that you cannot deny about a BMW. The temptation to own one might be dampened only by the expensive price tags. Even that might not be enough to convince some potential buyers to walk away.

Still, BMW has taken a bit of a hammering lately, and many drivers feel that owning a BMW is overrated. Some say that BMW might be losing its edge and is becoming generic. These are harsh words, but is there any truth to it? If the new 2021 BMW M5 is any example, BMW still has it.

Too sharp to handle

The 2021 BMW M5 has refreshed its design, and it’s better than ever. Many of the updates revolved around the body. The M5 now has a larger grille, updated headlights and taillights, and a restyled bumper.

The engine has gotten some sweet updates as well. The M5 comes with a twin-turbo V-8 that churns out up to 617 hp. This gives this four-door sedan some serious speed that most other sedans can only dream of driving.

If that’s not good enough, AWD comes standard. While most people wouldn’t ever dream of taking a BMW off-road, it’s still nice to know that you don’t have to worry about that big snowstorm coming through town.

The interior doesn’t have as many updates, but you’ll be sure to notice as soon as you slip inside. The once 10.25-inch display has now been replaced with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, making it one of the biggest infotainment systems. Android owners will now be pleased to know that Android Auto is finally available and a cloud-based navigation system.

BMW fans are in love

It’s no secret that everyone has an opinion, and BMW fans took to Reddit to express theirs.

Extroverted_Recluse said, “The M5 might be the car I want most in the world.” LH_Hyjal was also impressed and stated, “I always love the subtleness of M5.”

Despite all the BMW fans who think the new M5 is excellent, not one everyone was impressed. Some people question if there is any difference between the M5 and the M3.

Standbyforskyfall stated, “It looks like a BMW.” Launchy21 replied, “Looks exactly like the M3 basically. At least you used to be able to tell them apart rather easily.”

IAmTheWasted was even less impressed, and said, “The rear is not as bad as the G20, but man, is this car looking generic as ever.”

Part of the lack of enthusiasm might have to do with some owners claiming that BMW has become unreliable and expensive. While it’s true that some models like the X3 have had their ups and downs, but that’s not true across the board. The newly refreshed BMW M5 is proof of that.

BMW still has it

Some people might wonder if BMW is worth the high price. It’s a good question. With automakers like Toyota that are both cheaper and well known for their reliability, should you spend the extra money on the BMW brand? If you want the newest and best, then yes.

BMW is focused on breaking into the electric market, and it’s making some major waves. Rather than following the Tesla model, BMW is developing its own tech. Their new technology is so spectacular, and it won a prestigious award from Green Car Journal.

BMW has been around for over 100 years now, but will it make it another 100 years? While we have no way of saying for sure that it does, it’s probably safe to say that BMW won’t be going belly up anytime soon.
