According to Consumer Reports, the 2009 model is extremely reliable. It even earned a perfect score.

The 2009 Chevy Silverado can be had in multiple variations

Much like the Ford F-150, the 2009 Chevy Silverado is a used truck that can be had in multiple variations. From different trim levels to powertrains, Kelley Blue Book says that’s what makes the 2009 Chevy Silverado one of the best used trucks under $10,000. Unfortunately, unlike other pickups on the list, Consumer Reports didn’t give the 2009 Chevy Silverado the most impressive reliability ratings. In fact, Consumer Reports gave it only a three out of five reliability rating.
