But that doesn’t mean you can’t save a few bucks by buying a used minivan. According to iSeeCars, two particular Japanese minivan models are the best minivan models to buy used.

The best minivan model to buy used

According to new iSeeCars data, the Honda Odyssey is the best used minivan. In fact, it is ranked the No. 1 Longest-Lasting minivan. So how does the score look for a used Honda Odyssey?

The Honda Odyssey earns an overall score for 9.0 out of 10.0. It’s certainly a high-scoring model. But there are other reasons this made the list of the best used minivans. The used Honda Odyssey also has a 54% five-year value retention rate. It’s also one of the best minivan models to buy used for its 5.0 out of 5.0 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) average safety rating.

Buying a used Honda Odyssey saves some cash and still gets your family into a fantastic minivan. iSeeCars writes that “the Odyssey proves Honda’s reputation for reliability.” That plus stellar safety rating and high-ranking resale value means stats of these Japanese minivan model make .

The Odyssey’s reputation precedes it. As one of the best minivan models to buy used, this van also employs an athletic V6 engine, predictable and user-friendly handling, and a long list of available features.

The runner-up for the best used minivan

iSeeCars rates the Toyota Sienna as the runner-up for best used minivan. This model earned an overall score just below the used Honda Odyssey. A used Toyota Sienna earns an overall score of 8.9 out of 10.0 from iSeeCars. It also get an average safety rating of 5.0 out of 5.0 from the NHTSA.

There aren’t any stats reported by iSeeCars in terms of resale value. However, J.D. Power gives the 2020 Toyota Sienna a resale value rating of “great.” So this is one of the best used minivans because it aligns with the values by which iSeeCars rates used cars.
