Drivers have several options when it comes to searching for the best cars to buy used from showrooms. Naturally, this includes several Honda and Toyota vehicles. However, the market also has some less-than-stellar cars that require expensive visits with auto mechanics. Luckily, one car salesman recently took to social media to highlight five of the worst used cars, which include Hyundai and Kia vehicles. Many of these vehicles have car recalls.
Hyundai and Kia vehicles are not always among the best cars to buy used
People looking for the best cars to buy used often want something that’s both affordable and reliable. Sadly, as Rick The Car Guy from TikTok says, this isn’t always the case with Kia and Hyundai vehicles. He insists, “They both sell absolute junk. Stay away from Kia and Hyundai.” The self-proclaimed “King of Cars” goes on to say they have engine issues without any warning. He says even 2024 and 2025 models have these issues. Many auto mechanics have had similar sentiments.
Ford Focus
Many people going to car showrooms for the best used models to buy may consider a Ford Focus. However, this expert says buyers should look elsewhere. He mainly highlights that the Focus has transmission issues. Still, he says those lucky enough to find a five-speed manual might have a solid used car.
Ford F-150
Some will find this one controversial, but others won’t. The next vehicle Rick mentions is the iconic and ever-popular Ford F-150. He goes on to say they have many engine issues, especially the ones with the EcoBoost units. Notably, he feels that they start strong, but the problems show themselves once drivers put miles on the odometer.
Some Nissan models don’t make for the best used cars
Rick then highlights Nissan as a whole and says it used to be a great company. However, he laments the fact that they’re so focused on the CVT. In terms of naming quality Nissan vehicles, he can only come up with the GTR.
Mitsubishi
According to Rick, the worst cars to buy come from Mitsubishi. He even goes as far as to say the company doesn’t have one good vehicle on the market. He says people with Mitsubishi models should sell them as soon as they can. In the end, he says everyone should just go buy Toyota vehicles.
