When it came to picking the best new midsize SUVs, iSeeCars thought the Toyota Highlander was the best of the bunch. For the overall score, the Highlander racked up an 8.9 out of 10. The reliability score came in at 8.5, while the value retention was 8.2. The one area where the Highlander stood out in the area of safety, where the sport utility vehicle got a perfect 10 out of 10 score. With class-leading fuel economy and a long history of reliability, the Highlander is a good buy.

The Honda Pilot also made the list of the best midsize SUVs

The Honda Pilot midsize SUV is not far behind, with an overall score of 8.7 out of 10. The reliability for the Pilot sport utility vehicle came in at an 8.6, and the value retention score was a 7.4. The Honda Pilot was another safe option getting a perfect score of 10 out of 10 from iSeeCars. The experts called the Honda Pilot SUV “one of America’s favorite three-row family vehicles.” For almost all trim levels, the Pilot seats seven or eight passengers. The Pilot also manages to be a class leader in cargo capacity and interior space.

Don’t forget the reliable Toyota 4Runner sport utility vehicle

iSeeCars gave the Toyota 4Runner an 8.6 overall, in third place for best midsize SUVs. With an 8.8 for the reliability score, the 4Runner managed to get a 9.0 for value retention and an 8.0 for safety. When looking at the pros and cons, iSeeCars listed many positive attributes. The 4Runner is great for off-roading, towing (when properly equipped) and has a great resale value. The design isn’t the most modern or up-to-date, and the cargo space could be a bit more generous. The fuel economy is also about half of what similar Toyota SUVs can offer. However, the Toyota 4Runner SUV can tow 5,000 pounds and has various off-road upgrades buyers can opt for. Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) is standard on all trims.

The Hyundai Santa Fe is another one of the best SUVs for 2022

The Hyundai Santa Fe came in fourth on iSeeCars list of midsize SUVs. The Santa Fe received an overall score of 8.5 out of 10 and a reliability score of 8.5 out of 10. As far as value retention goes, the Hyundai SUV scored a 7.0. That’s not bad for those looking for a good value in a sea of expensive options. This midsize SUV also received 10 out of 10 for safety. Last year, Hyundai introduced a hybrid option and included the newest infotainment system available.
