Coming in with the highest vehicle dependability score from J.D. Power, the 2016 Porsche 911 was the only luxury coupe with a perfect 10 out of 10. Porsche offers it with a coupe or a convertible body style and a variety of drivetrains to choose from.

Buyers could choose from a manual or automatic transmission and rear or all-wheel drive. In 2016, Porsche also offered a Targa GTS and GT3 RS variant. That makes it one of the best luxury coupes and convertibles from 2016.

BMW’s 2 Series is another one of the best luxury coupes and convertibles

People seem to enjoy driving the 2016 BMW 2 Series as much as owning it. This year, BMW offered the 2 Series exclusively as a coupe and convertible body style. The 228i came with a 240 hp turbo four-cylinder engine or a 320 hp turbo six-cylinder. If buyers opt for the M2, 365 hp from the turbo six engine awaits you.

As expected, the manual transmission was standard and coupled with rear-wheel drive. Automatic was optional, as was all-wheel drive. The M235i convertible received the xDrive AWD system. Regarding its dependability score, J.D. Power gave the 2016 BMW 2 Series a nine out of 10. No matter which option you choose, the 2 Series is one of the best luxury coupes and convertibles from 2016.

Check out the Audi A5 Sportback and S5 Sportback

If you wanted a 2016 Audi A5 back in the day, it might be a good time to buy. Depending on how much speed you wanted, buyers could choose from the turbo four-cylinder engine or the supercharged V6 option. On top of that, the A5 came in either coupe or convertible body styles.

Choosing between Premium and Premium Plus equipped the Audi with plenty of features and added equipment. One of those was the S-Line appearance package. No matter which one you choose, the 2016 Audi A5 is fun to drive.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers plenty of horsepower

If you want something different, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe and convertible made the J.D. Power list. Both the E400 and E550 are good options with a few engine choices. Mercedes E400 received a turbo 3.0L V6 with 329 hp, and the E550 got a turbocharged V8 with 402 hp. Buyers could opt for all-wheel drive. One of the coolest comfort features was a neck warmer called AirScarf. This option on the convertible version utilized a power air deflector. 2016 was a wild time.

J.D. Power gave the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a dependability score of nine out of 10. Not bad for an old Mercedes!

While these are some of the best luxury coupes and convertibles from 2016, there are plenty of options out there from before and after this year. The 2016 Porsche 911 was actually the most dependable vehicle in all of the J.D. Power 2019 Vehicle Dependability Study.
