The 2022 Ford Maverick is the second smallest pickup truck behind the Hyundai Santa Cruz. The Maverick is innovative because it is the first standard hybrid pickup truck. It offers unique qualities that are perfect for city driving.

The Ford Maverick is only 200 inches long, 73 inches wide, and 69 inches tall. The Ford Ranger is 11 inches longer by comparison and also both wider and taller. The Maverick is perfect for the city because it is better suited to squeeze into tight parking spaces than most trucks on the market.

The 2022 Ford Maverick is also uniquely suited for city driving because of its amazing fuel economy, Commuters often have to deal with high gas prices to their dismay. The Maverick is a fuel sipper rather than a gas guzzler like other vehicles in its class. According to Motor1, the Ford Maverick gets a whopping 42 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. That’s a lot of city miles. It uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain to produce 191 horsepower.

Since the Ford Maverick is a new truck, the Honda Ridgeline has time on its side. The Ridgeline has consistently proven that it is one of the best pickup trucks in its vehicle class. The interesting thing about the Honda Ridgeline is that it doesn’t boast exceptional power or off-road capability like some other trucks. Honda focused on everyday practicality when designing the Honda Ridgeline.

The Ridgeline has been championed as the best daily driver truck because it has a comfortable interior and provides a smooth ride. Its 3.5-liter V6 engine makes 280 horsepower, which is exciting enough for the average driver. It gets 18 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Honda Ridgeline may be an amazing daily driver, but as far as city trucks go, the Maverick is just more convenient. The 2021 Honda Ridgeline starts at $36,890. The 2022 Ford Maverick starts at just $19,995. Even the Maverick’s highest trim level is still at least $10,000 cheaper than the Honda Ridgeline.

The Ford Maverick is the better city truck because it has better fuel economy, is smaller and thus more convenient to drive in a crowded city, and has a customizable truck bed. The Ridgeline may be a better truck overall, but affordability and convenience beat comfort and power in the city. The Maverick is already gearing up to take over major cities.
