Chevrolet has been in the pickup truck business for decades. The truck vehicle class has drastically evolved since the earliest Chevy trucks debuted over a century ago, but Chevrolet remains a competitor in the pickup space.

Chevrolet produces several popular truck models. Some of its most popular current truck models include the Colorado, the Silverado, and the Silverado HD. The mid-size Colorado ZR2 has recently gotten attention for its off-roading prowess.

Though Chevrolet has produced plenty of iconic truck models like the Chevrolet Task Force in 1955, one popular model reigns supreme. One Chevy truck has consistently proven itself to be a favorite among consumers in America.

The Chevy Silverado 1500 is currently the most popular Chevy truck

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the most popular Chevy truck in recent years. The Silverado has its issues, but as far as Chevy trucks go, it’s at the top of the heap.

According to Consumer Reports, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado received an 84/100 driver experience rating for predicted owner satisfaction. The Silverado has its fair share of problems with reliability, but consumers keep coming back because of its handling and powerful engine choices. The Chevy Silverado 1500 also features new tech and driver assistance features for 2021.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 uses a 4.3-liter V6 engine to make 285 horsepower. The Silverado 1500 has several different engine options including a powerful 6.2-liter V8 that makes a whopping 420 horsepower.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets 23 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. It gets 28 miles per gallon combined, which is decent for its vehicle class. The Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,300 pounds and has a payload capacity of 2,280 pounds.

Should you buy a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

The 2021 Chevrolet Silvardo 1500 starts at $30,995. The Silverado 1500 is a decent truck, but it isn’t the top of its class. The full-size Chevy pickup has trailed behind the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 for years. The Silverado 1500 may not be the best full-size truck on the market, but it is definitely improving over time.

Whether it’s new trailer-assistance technology or a new Multi-Flex tailgate, Chevrolet is still finding new ways to build upon the Silverado 1500’s utility. The Silverado may not surpass the Ford F-150 or Ram 1500 anytime soon, but it surely is one of the better Chevy pickup trucks ever made. Is the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a pass, or a buy?
