People looking for the best cars, trucks, and SUVs to buy have several criteria on their list. For many, they’re looking for something affordable. This is oftentimes despite being able to afford more expensive vehicles. Recently, a report came out that listed the least and most expensive models to own. Chevrolet happens to have two of the most expensive vehicles.

Some of the best cars to buy have low price tags but cost a ton in other ways

Quite a lot goes into owning a car beyond looking for the best options to buy. This even goes beyond the initial cost of the vehicle. Recently, Quartz released a list of the least and most expensive vehicles to own. They considered fuel costs, maintenance, insurance, fees, and taxes. Naturally, many of the most popular cars, trucks, and SUVs are on the list. However, Chevrolet made the most expensive list twice.

The Chevrolet Silverado is among the best trucks to buy

Based on the list of the most expensive vehicles to own, the Chevrolet Silverado came in at number 5. The outlet says that people who drive home in one can expect to spend about $7,699 per year to own what many call one of the best trucks to buy. Of course, many of the costs will depend on where people live, but it makes sense that a vehicle this large would cost a pretty penny. This is because it will require more cash for fuel and insurance. Still, many consider this one of the best pickup trucks, so they may not be too dismayed by the cost.

The Tahoe happens to be one of the best SUVs to buy

According to this list, the most expensive vehicle to own is the Chevrolet Tahoe. The outlet says that this full-size SUV costs about $8,644 per year. Again, this makes sense due to the high fuel and insurance costs for a vehicle this large. Notably, the other four most expensive vehicles to own were trucks and SUVs. Despite the cost, Chevrolet is known for making some of the best cars to buy of all time.

Most expensive vehicles to own:

  • 1) Chevrolet Tahoe $8,644
  • 2) Lexus RX $8,046
  • 3) Ram 1500 RHO $7,981
  • 4) Toyota 4Runner $7,820
  • 5) Chevrolet Silverado $7,699
