Edmunds found that the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse checked all of the boxes. It has room for eight passengers and comes equipped with front-wheel drive. EPA estimates for the fuel economy are 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Passengers and experts report that the Traverse has plenty of room for adults, even in the third row. The maximum cargo capacity is 98.2 cubic feet with all the rows folded or 23.0 cubic feet with all the seats in place.

Depending on where you live, the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse can cost around $193 per month in fuel. That comes in under the large SUV segment average of $261. Chevy starts the 2023 Traverse at $34,220 and goes up to $53,900 for the top-level trim.

Buick’s Enclave is another seven-passenger SUV with good cargo space

As far as seven-passenger SUVs go, the 2023 Buick Enclave has plenty of room for everyone. Experts report that the cargo area is generous, coming in at 97.4 cubic feet of space with all the rows folded. With all rows in place, the cargo capacity sits at 23.6 cubic feet of space. Fuel estimates are around $197 a month, still coming in lower than the segment average.

Some of the standard features included on the 2023 Enclave include Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, Forward collision mitigation, and Lane keeping assistance. There are a few more systems, such as Following Distance Indicator and Lane Change and Blind Zone Alert, that also set the Enclave apart from the competition.

Don’t overlook the luxury BMW X7

While the 2023 BMW X7 has a higher MSRP range than the other seven-passenger SUVs, it also has plenty of luxury to add. Starting at $77,850 for the base model and going up to $103,100 for the top-of-the-line trim, the X7 has 90.4 cubic feet of space with all the seats folded. With all three rows up, the cargo area is limited to 12.8 cubic feet.

However, the X7 offers a refined and comfortable ride. The engine choices are powerful enough for most buyers, even if it does bring the estimated monthly fuel cost up to $225 per month. However, BMW does equip the 2023 X7 with plenty of safety systems. Some of the best include Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation and Lane Departure Warning. Active Blind-Spot Detection is also helpful to keep all seven passengers safe.
