Arizona drivers are awaiting refunds after getting the wrong gas from a Circle K in Phoenix

In recent months, there have been several stories of drivers using the pumps at gas stations and getting fuel that’s either mislabeled or has water in it. One of the most recent incidents happened in Arizona. Now, several drivers are complaining about how long it’s taken to be reimbursed for repairs with auto mechanics.
The pumps at this Circle K station had the wrong gas
According to MoneyWise, several people got bad fuel from the gas station pumps at a Circle K in Phoenix, Arizona. In this case, the gas didn’t have water in it. Instead, the person delivering the fuel had put diesel in the pumps labeled for regular grade gas. Clarissa Amoroso reports that she filled up at the Circle K on February 9. Sadly, she immediately began to experience issues. She said the vehicle started “cutting out, acting like it wasn’t getting fuel.”
Clarissa couldn’t live her everyday life after using the pumps at the gas station. Notably, she was unable to travel to work for a time. The woman began working with Circle K to resolve the issue, but they were not upfront about the reimbursement timeline. She’s not the only victim. Matthew Silva also got the wrong fuel from the station. Because the claims process took so long, he paid $4,300 out of pocket. He says auto mechanics had to replace “anything that had to do with the gas.” This was after he was told the claims department would take 14 days to reach out.
Now, both Clarissa and Matthew have been reimbursed after using the gas station pumps. However, this didn’t happen until more than halfway through April. Still, many got the wrong fuel and haven’t received payment for repairs. The report says around 60 vehicles were impacted. According to Circle K, “We take all claims seriously and evaluate each of them carefully, and we always work to reimburse customers as quickly as possible once we receive the required documentation to validate their claim.”
