Fans are probably pretty excited to see the 2023 Chevy Silverado SS make its return. The Chevrolet Super Sport package hasn’t been available for quite some time, but it will be racing into the scene soon.

The Silverado SS adds a unique spin to performance trucks. Instead of being off-roading oriented like the Ram 1500 TRX and Ford F-150 Raptor, the Silverado SS will rock the pavement.

Expect a revised exterior look to provide more racing confidence. The suspension could be lowered to enhance the truck’s aerodynamics. The hood and bumpers will be a little sleeker and curvier too.

We wouldn’t be surprised if the truck has hood scoops for better airflow and a few unique tire designs. Plus, unique SS graphics will complete the look.

How much power does the Silverado SS have?

We don’t have the official specs for the 2023 Chevy Silverado SS yet. Also, critics are predicting different engine options for the SS. Some think that it won’t have any extra power and that the SS package is primarily for appearances.

According to Pickup Truck News, the truck will be powered by the 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine helps the Silverado reach 60 mph n about 5.8 seconds. But it needs to be a little faster to catch the Ram 1500 TRX.

Also, Pickup Truck News shared that it’s unlikely that the Silverado SS engine will receive any tuning or a supercharger to pump out more power, so way to put a damper on the party.

According to Big Pickup Trucks, the 2023 Silverado SS will get the same engine as the Cadillac Escalade V. It comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine with 682 hp and 653 lb-ft of torque. The Cadillac V reaches 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds.

But the Silverado SS would need a little more work to make this engine work, including enhanced brakes to bring this beastly truck to a full stop.

How much does the 2023 Silverado SS cost?

Pricing for the 2023 Chevy Silverado SS may be wildly different based on what type of engine it gets. Without any extra power, the Silverado SS is expected to start at around $40,000. But if it gets a supercharged engine, then it could cost about $70,000.

Interior upgrades could also affect the price. The Chevy Silverado SS will probably be loaded with luxury racing-themed features such as leather seats, a leather-wrapped gear shifter, ambient lighting, and steel pedals.

We can’t forget about tech either. The Silverado SS could gain a launch mode or a better digital gauge cluster to provide racing stats. Also, a head-up display and a new infotainment screen could be added.

Until we learn more about the new Chevy Silverado SS, all we can do is confirm that it will at least look the part. However, we’re hoping it gains extra muscle.
