This story would make more sense if a Florida man caused all this trouble. But surprisingly, a drunk man in Arkansas is the one responsible for causing tons of chaos while spectacularly failing to steal a fire truck

Drunk Arkansas man tries to steal a fire truck

Alcohol is referred to as liquid courage sometimes, and that’s not always a good thing. Too much confidence can put you behind bars if you try to do something stupid.

For example, a drunk Arkansas man thought he could get away with a fire truck. Now 34-year-old Johnathan Michael French has some explaining to do.

He saw the truck parked by a restaurant during the night. For some reason, he went up to the truck and climbed through the window.

After fiddling with the controls, he texted his sister and sent her photos. He said, “OK, trying to steal a fire truck, can’t get it out of park.” According to 4029 TV, this was included in the affidavit for probable cause.

But what was his sister going to do? Is she an experienced firefighter? Actual firefighters found him in the front seat and removed him from the truck before the police arrived. French didn’t drive or damage the vehicle.

Police officers shared that his pupils were dilated, he spoke loudly and too quickly to understand well, and strayed off topic while attempting to answer basic questions.

They charged French with public intoxication and breaking and entering. Although it’s unclear how drunk the man was or if he was under the influence of something other than alcohol. But the BAC test results are probably interesting.
