Choosing the right trim level can be challenging if you’re interested in a new 2022 Subaru Forester. The upper trims are the way to go for those interested in getting the most out of their vehicle. For a Forester, the range-toppers are the Limited and Touring models. Are the 2022 Subaru Forester Limited and Touring worth the price?

According to Edmunds, the 2022 Subaru Forster Limited costs $33,750. You’re paying roughly $6,000 more than the Forester base model at that price. However, many more features come with the second most expensive version of the crossover. For example, it comes with everything the Premium and Sport models have, plus more. Standard essential items like a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED foglights, blindspot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and evasive steering assist make the Forester much better.

Since those features ate included with lower trims, they aren’t quite as interesting. Buying the Subaru Forester Limited grants access to even more. For example, larger 18-inch wheels, an eight-inch touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and a power liftgate. Do you think these features are worth approximately $2,000 more than the Forester Sport trim?

On the other hand, there’s one step above the Limited trim level. For the fully-loaded experience, buyers must choose the 2022 Subaru Forester Touring. Starting at $37,170, the model comes with many of the same features as the lower trims. However, it adds much more luxurious convenience items to make your driving experience the best it can be. Here’s what you get for nearly $4,000 more than the Limited trim:

  • Extra driver’s seat adjustment and memory settings
  • Power-adjustable passenger’s seat
  • Standard driver monitoring system
  • Harman Kardon audio system
  • Navigation
  • Heated rear seats
  • Heated steering wheel

In addition, some of the features included with upper trims are available options for cheaper models. However, the highest trims package them all together for the best value. The Touring model provides a lot of value for an extra few thousand dollars. However, we feel that these are amenities not everyone needs, so deciding if the price is worth it is up to you.

Are the 2022 Subaru Forester Limited and Touring worth the price?

We think the 2022 Subaru Forester Limited is not worth the price. Contrarily, the Touring model better fulfills its value. It’s worth noting that both models provide many extra features not everyone will need. Overall, the second most affordable Forester Premium offers the most bang for your buck. Customers who want all the bells and whistles, however, should opt for the Touring trim level. We think its price combined with items like heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel make it better than the Limited version.

In conclusion, the Forester Limited is not worth the price, but the Touring model offers much more. If you require all those extras, it’s the best way to get them. We think it’s best to avoid the mid-level Limited. Either stay with lower trims that cost much less or jump all the way up to the fully-loaded 2022 Subaru Forester Touring.
