Anti-Nazism student organization threatens to vandalize a Jewish Tesla owner’s EV
A student organization in Northern California threatened to vandalize and damage local Tesla vehicles. However, while the group touts its anti-nazi agenda, it targeted an Arcata-area Jewish Tesla owner with a threatening note and a brick.
‘SANE’ threatened to inflict ‘physical damage’ and vandalize Tesla vehicles in California, including one belonging to a Jewish owner
The “Students Against Nazi Extremism” (SANE) recently mailed a manifesto to a Northern California media outlet. In the manifesto, SANE claims that it intends to “inflict physical damage to Tesla-branded vehicles.” And the reason? It’s Elon Musk. The organization claims that Musk is “an overt Nazi with a history of fascist, racist, misogynist and criminal behavior.”
In addition to the manifesto, the student organization placed individual threats on Humboldt County Tesla vehicles, each threatening to vandalize the EVs. To add to the senselessness of the situation, one of the targeted Tesla owners was a Jewish man. That’s a bit problematic. To make matters even worse, his note was wrapped around a brick to further demonstrate the organization’s destructive intent.
The unnamed resident told the Lost Coast Outpost about the ordeal. “How ironic that this threat is directed at a community that overwhelmingly supports democratic ideals,” he said in a note to the media outlet. “In lieu of violence may I suggest the perpetrators donate to progressive causes, write postcards to encourage voting, call their political representatives in Congress, and support businesses engaged in fair practices.”
We are not the enemy and neither are our Teslas. In a final note of irony, I am of Jewish descent. Nazis indeed,” the Tesla owner added. It’s a scathing response to the threat of vandalism and property destruction.
So, why would endeavoring to vandalize a Jewish man’s Tesla and many other Arcata-area EVs make a difference? Well, SANE claims they intend to “create enough shame to make it onerous for anyone to buy or operate a Tesla-branded vehicle.”
