Angry Driver’s Desperate Attempt to Recover Hyundai Palisade Goes Spectacularly Wrong

An angry driver who parked his Hyundai Palisade SUV at the wrong spot tried to recover it from the tow truck when things went downhill very fast. Or should I say sideways? The desperate attempt to dismount the vehicle was caught on video, an episode that ended with frustration and embarrassment for him.

The video was shared on Reddit, where comments suggest that the SUV was being towed for a parking violation. It began when the driver, or someone close to him, climbs onto the vehicle and attempted to reverse with the hopes that his efforts would free both front wheels.

A repeat attempt did the trick, but the left front wheel dropped first, tilting the SUV onto the driver’s side. The driver continued to press the accelerator, which didn’t help at all. It was too late by the time the right front wheel got dislodged, since the vehicle had already lost its balance. By the end, the SUV ended up sideways with the wheels still rotating.

The driver of the tow truck continued filming the event for his record, while an onlooker expressed shock at the incident. According to Carscoops, the owner of the SUV could have waited for his vehicle to reach the impound yard for him to retrieve it instantly.

After this debacle, however, the SUV owner made the situation more complex, considering the damage done to his vehicle. He would also be liable to pay compensation if the tow truck has been damaged in an attempt to retrieve his SUV. The tow truck driver also uploaded the video he recorded, but it seems to have been taken down.

In another incident involving a tow truck, a silver Dodge Magnum detached from a tow truck’s hook and rolled backwards in Philadelphia’s Frankford neighborhood, striking the 39-year-old motorcyclist Jason Harvey of Southampton, Pennsylvania.

MotorBiscuit reported the incident that occurred in early March, when the vehicle was being towed. It is not known how the vehicle detached and managed to travel into the lanes behind, eventually hitting Harvey.

Police confirmed the location of the Ford tow truck, which was found “in the parking lot of an apartment building on the 1000 block of East Lycoming Street in the city’s Juniata Park neighborhood.” Now, the hunt is on for the driver, and police have contacted his employer.
