In 2020, the market for auto sales hasn’t exactly been its highest. The year has seen a lot of market hiccups––to say the least. However, people have still been buying plenty of cars. According to CEO World, there are some brands that are being bought in more volume than others. Of all the cars, trucks, SUVs, and crossovers bought in 2020, these are America’s most popular car brands.

Honda

Of all the brands on the list provided by CEO World, Honda takes the number 5 spot. It’s a clear favorite and it’s the fifth most bought brand in the US. America saw its first Honda storefront in LA, California. That was back in 1959 and the rest is history. Honda cars are a household name in terms of reliable vehicles with a wide range of options from trucks to family SUVs to sporty race-inspired vehicles like the Civic Type R.

According to the CEO World article, the Honda Accord is America’s second most popular car in America. The Honda Civic in all its forms is also a common choice. More recently, with the explosion of the crossover SUV market, the Honda CR-V has taken a top spot in terms of sales.

Nissan

Nissan sells the fourth most cars in America. It’s one of the most popular car brands mostly due to sales of the Nissan Altima. This is a benchmark model for the brand with style and comfort. The family-friendly features keep this car on the map. In fact, in 2014 Nissan was the largest electric car manufacturer in all of North America.

Of course, now it’s been overtaken my Tesla. However, the Nissan Leaf still holds a presence in the electric market. The Nissan Brand is like here to stay for a while because Americans keep buying its vehicles.

Toyota

Here is the brand that makes third place on the list. Toyota’s most sold cars are, not surprisingly, the Camry and the Corolla. These cars are known to have dependability in snow and harsh climate conditions. This is one reason these cars are popular in the northern parts of the US––especially cities in the west like Portland or Seattle.

The Corolla is actually the most sold car on Earth. Plus, Toyota sells a lineup of tough trucks and family-friendly SUVs like the Toyota Tundra and the 4Runner. This is one reason the brand does so well as one of the most popular car brands in America.

Ford

Ford is easily one of the most iconic car brands sold on US soil. Its F-150 pickup truck is the stuff of legends and is the most sold vehicle in the US for decades. Still, this auto brand made second on the list––not first.

The Ford Explorer may be a little pricey, but it’s extremely popular in the crossover SUV segment. Overall Ford is America’s second most popular car brand. The brand is strong and sure to last the test of time.

Chevy

Interestingly enough, Chevrolet is the most popular car brand in the US. This manufacturer sells more vehicles than any others. It’s a brand with a century of experience in the industry and a massive, loyal following.

The Chevy Malibu has been in production since 1964 and it’s still sold in abundance today. The Silverado is a pickup truck to compete with the likes of the Ford F-150. In fact, according to CEO World, this truck is the brand’s most popular model even in 2020.
